First of all what is the work done by the contractor

Is he a labour supply contractor or a Piece rate work contractor

Please analyse why the contractor has runaway. If his desertion is justifiable please re-consider your contractual agreement with that contractor.

Your company will be having the retention amount upto some percentage of his bill whatever paid to him. You can use the amount as your trump.

While engaging the contractor you can make some agreement type with that contractor for acceptance of the contract and initially you can fix some penalty for breach, if any.

Every month you have to ask for the wages disbursement details, PF Remittance details Workmen Compensation Policy details, and other relevant statutory documetns as deemed fit.

In Construction industries majority contractors (man power supply) are illiterates and not having sufficient educational qualification to understand. These all type of cases we have to face and the run-away contractors may be discouraged for future jobs from your company by sending vide publicity about his breach of contract or creating and indulging themselves in unwanted activities which is against the interest of the company.

The Contractor is aggreed for work order upto 5 Lac, but he is left out without intemation in between, now we are suffered due to non availablity of labour gaung and also we complete the project with in 2 months. so that only i asked. any way we engauge other party for balance work.
