I am operating a small restaurant in Maldives and I would like to recognise the hard work of my staffs and trying to implement from January 2011 to select employee of the month. I want it to be fair for all the staff and for this I need your help. Please show me the direction to do this in a way equal to all the staff.

It is good that you are going to implement a scheme for employee motivation - to select the Employee of the Month.
You can have a transparent scheme, in the areas of housekeeping, kitchen, service, front & back office; with appropriate weightages.
You can have several parameters based on exemplary service, cost reduction, suggestions for improvement, Customer feedback, attendance and punctuality etc.; as well as certain defined Key Result Areas.
I hope members with relevant experience shall come fiorward with suggestions, to guide you better.
