Most of you must be aware about the new TRAI guidelines that are getting implemented to penalize "Service Providers" making unsolicited telephone calls.
My query is this: Though this step is primarily aimed at telemarketing service providers, will consulting/placement/staffing companies fall in the ambit of this new law--since they too fall under the category of 'service provider' for the purpose of Services Tax?
Could the legal brains [no pun intended pl] in this Forum clarify this aspect ASAP? For if this new policy does cover Placement Companies/Agencies, then the overall Recruiting scene could change drastically--a way to avoid the pitfalls may also be suggested to help everyone in this Forum.
