I would like to know how do you negotiate salaries, specially for sales managers opening who promotes our company for projects. If the person is already drawing 6.6, apart from sales incentives, he is from Delhi, and will be relocating to Hyd.
Should his salary be negotitated as cost of living is not as much as it is at Delhi or should i put clause on performance like paying 5 lac the rest in quarterly performance.
can someone sincerely suggest me, as this position has to closed ASAP.

First tell me what is the reason he is looking to move to Hyd. Also what is the budget you have for Sales Man in your Organisation. If you could pay him his existing CTC or may be a 10% hike on his take home sal and explain about your Incentive Plan then may be that guy would be intd and also sticking to you for a longer time. Sales has many opportunity Open in the Market and he may just go for a shopping .... Any queries let me know ..........

He is not desperate to move to Hyd, he is been poached from Delhi, becoz of his rare architectural expertise and sales back ground, we are ready to pay him what he is drawing or a little more, but the problem is he doesnt want to indulge in performance related package. But if he doesnt market properly we end up paying every month with no project, I need some suggestions on how to put clause on his performance.
He is drawing 6.6 lac per annum(has good arch exp, but sales exp is only 1 yr), he was in a team earlier, but now he would lead the team. Lot of hopes on him....

I like to give few inputs which you might feel helpful. As far as Sales is concerned its wise to have a part of salary based on performance which can serve as a motivation to the individual and the idea scenario for both company and individual as its win-win on both the sides.

I can make from your inputs that you are planning to transfer inside the company and if its transfer its good to see that the previous salary is protected. You can also be transparent about his career progression after certain period and the benefits he will get after good performance if you feel that the individual is an asset to your organisation and like to retain him.

Hi friends,
Now, he has given us some business proposals like incase he is paid the same 55k, his salary to be revised by 65 k after three months with a commission3% , or low base salary of 20 k with handsome 10% commission on the revenue generated, or no salary and the business intially be shifted DELHI with meagre resources, till our company marks a stand in the market, with a commission 20% of the revenue generated.
