Dear all HR experts,

it has been noticed that some of the recruitment firm and companies are not dealing in fair and jusitfied manner and therefore as a job seeker we sometimes do not feel like trusting to such recruitment firm and companies.

In recent incident, a call was made by recruitment firm for some position. the profile of the candidate was lacking some part. The recruitment firm made changes in job profile of the candidate in resume and almost copied the similar responsibilities mentioned in JD.

in another incident, a employee was promised by the company that he will be given extra benefits in form of incentives verbally, however, such benefits never given by the company even though the target is achieved.

Dear HR experts,

We seek your guidance in how to check the trust worthy ness of company and recruitement firms.

like the company check employee's reference, back ground etc. can we check the genuineness of recruitement firm, the Company HR practices etc.

unfortunately, we do not have any interactive platform for employees to share their experiences and guidance to juniour employees while working in organisations.

Regards to all.

Dear Friend,
This is the practice of many recruitment firms and consultacies. But not all the consultancies are doing the same. Some are really genuin for their business.
But when approached a private job agency which is run by a government officer, he asked me for month salary and the company HR asked me for one month salary.
Though i accepted to give 2 months salary, i was called for the interview for 6 times in a week. But i was never interviewed.
This is the fact. But we need to be very careful in identifying these kind of agencies/ consultancies.

Hi Dear Freinds

This is Shwetha from Bangalore..I am working in one Consultancy firm only..as Senior.HR Executive,,,,
I agree with you both..Ofcourse how companies do background verifications of candidates......Sameway candidates also have full rights and different ways to cross verify whether that company or consultancies is genuine or not!!!!

As per my knowledge all companies and consultancies will be having their own company website..you can search it in google and get more information about that company...which contains all the details.....

And you can even ask that concern person to drop a Test Mail to your I.D from there Official mail i.d to check whether that person is working in that company or not!!! If they send you test mail from their gmail/yahoo/hotmail I.D's its not trustworthy....

But one more thing to make you clear that..Please do ever pay any amount to any consultancies/companies before getting placed...
Nowadays there are lots of such cases happening...Recently some frauds cheated most of the candidates by telling that they have opening in Videocon Company and asked for 15,000 amount for Interview security...But it was completely fake..it was done only for money.....

So beware of such cases.Don't blindly pay amount for such fake consultancies and companies...

Takecare!!!!

Regards
Shwetha

See Dear although shweta has given you the idea of knowing your consultants through their official websites and an appointment of verification agency, but this VA will again increase the cost of acquisition. better to take an appropriate method for consultant appointment which should be based purely on merit and not on the references and personel favours within n by HR, this is important as these people in their latter phase ends up doing things like this which brings shame for the community. Have you ever interviewed the guy who did this....? perhaps no.. most often we never personally interview consultants/their core team members who will be taking care of the important assignments etc. Freelancing business is also creating cuious sometimes. giving assignments out of consultant's domain area can again be a cause in latter phase, internal pressure on account manager is one thing to look at and above all individual's and group lacking in business ethics is the major cause of such incidents.

As your post is concern its a candidates responsibility also to make out on a genuinity of a consultant and enquire about/to ask question in return. how can a educated job seeker get into a verbal commitment of C&B promises which is over & above of the details mentioned in his appointment letter?? anyone just can laugh on that and can only advise to beaware of quacks.

I fully agree with Propellant Consultants , and just like to correct Ms Swetha, frauds are committed even after having websites and official email address.
Many placement agencies are in India who use gmail ids , does it mean they are not genuine ?
There are many small agencies who provide job in abroad though they do not have any website at all.
Business email IDs too has a cost and the internal team of recruitment agency is always have a target . It is the recruiter who often in order to reach their targets by hook or by crook make changes in the resumes and force the candidate to appear for interview. No recruiter has the right to make any changes in the resume they can just delete the contact details and add salary details of the candidate.
Why do the candidates pay on registration and other hidden fees. Those agencies who ask for money before providing any job assistance just take those agencies granted as fake and not genuine and avoid them.
