People with such long association with any organisation do tend to behave in such fasion. They will be of the opinion that any policy or procedure do not apply for them and they are above it.
Here the problem is ATTITUDE of the employee.
Cut it. Make him the champion for some process which you want to implement. Give him more responsibility. do show that he is important and is part of the organisation and can make it grow even more stronger with the new set of process and policies.
