Hello All,
I wanted to know the job role of CSR in hr department.
is it something like customer support in hr department(kind of voice bpo???)
what is growth level in this position in big brands like accenture??

Corporate Social Responsibilty is taking social intiatives by the company in the environment / geography mostly and not confined to that area / geography /community alone, most of the larger / successful organisations take responsibility and not forced by anyone to do some good for the community in which they operate , for example some large IT companies adopt poor children and undertake to support them for their education / provide free training in computers , like wise some manufacturing companies may set-up a free medical health camps , adopt a village to provide drinking water facilities, in this way the company gives some good returns / benefits for the community in which they operate and this would help the company to earn good-will and brand building in the longer run.

CSR is a nice field to work and if you have got an opportunity you must avail it as it will provide a platform to help project the company's social goals. As for growth opportunities sky is the limit i.e. getting offers from reputed NGO's, business houses, corporates to working for United Nations.....take the plunge but rembember "doing the right thing" would take you where you need to be.

I guess you might have got confused in terms like Corporate Social Responsibility or Did u mean Customer Support Representative? Do u have any HR experience? What is ur education background & exp?

I concur with Ranjeeb. You will learn a lot while you will be in a different platform, much prestigious that other HR responsibilities. There are ample avenues to rise and be in a commanding position.

As Mr. Sanjay mentioned CSR means Corporate Social Responsibility. It is the company social initiatives in near by villages or specified geographical area. Social initiatives may be in the field of health, education, women empowerment, infrastructure development or any other rural development activities. In some of the company CSR is a separate department where as in others it is part of HR department. CSR is one of the emerging trend in corporate sector and those who are in this field defiantly have bright future.
