Dear Kranthi,
The HR role in a manufacturing industry is very different from a service industry.
If you want place your candidature in a manufacturing organisation, you will have to be well versed with hard core HR functions.
I would suggest that you should improve your knowledge regarding different labour laws, industrial relations, employee engagement activities etc. I hope it will help you to get an opportunity in a manufacturing unit.
Best of luck.

Dear Adiiti, Thanks for your Kind reply,I know Labour laws but the Recruitment job Is usefull or not to manufacturing companys HR Executive/HR Asst Regards, Kranthi

Dear Kranthi,
As a matter of fact in a Manufacturing Units the attrition Rate is very low because of this there major focus
is on the candidate who knows little about the Recruitments, But should be Masters in
9.Contract Labour & Regulation Act
10 Factory Act
In a manufacturing units the Recruitment is not a tough job and your sound knowledge of Recruitment
will not be fruitful for them as they do not take any NAUKRI,MONSTER LOGIN ,
Mostly they do the Recruitments from Consultancy as the attrition rate is quite less.
if you want to be a part of the manufacturing process then pls strenthen you labour Acts

Dear Anupam, Thanks for your Kind Advise,Is this Recruitment experience use full to Manufacturing companys after getting knowledge in Labour laws. Regards, Kranthi

Dear Kranthi,
Recruitment is a part of HR function in any Industry even in Manufacturing. So it's clear that experience in recruitment is good. But if you ask for Manufacturing company as Aditi & Anupam said, due to low attrition rate the recruitment function i s very limited. Thus along with the experience in recruitment you should have very good & vast knowledge about other area as specified by Anupam.
Also as a matter of fact, mostly companies do not prefer candidates from consultancies due to limited exp in recruitment only. Hence, if you want to get, you need to present & prove your knowledge & skills are competent enough to make you hire.

Dear Kranthi,
You yourself clearly explained that you are working as a HR Recruiter and you are asking about HR Executive (Generalist) role. Again I really wonder how that company would have called you, if you have mentioned your present role is only recruitment and not as a generalist.
You should be very clear while preparing a CV. You should clearly state the role which you are playing and the fields in which you are sound on. The main question of yours "The consultancy experience would usefull to Manufacturing companys" is not clear as you have to define in which role you are interested to work in an Industry. The explanations given by Aditi, Anupam & Dhanu are pretty much clear and concise.
Anyway good luck!

Dear Kranthi,

As suggested by Aditi, Anupam , Dhanu and Mahesh please chalk out a plan to prepare your practise based knowledge in the Generalist Areas, where you intend to grow. Request you to read the discussions and material available in this community, on the topics mentioned to you. You may request your current employer to offer you some responsibilities in these areas. Once you start delivering in the role you will realise the difference in the knowledge required.

A rejection can never sound good to any one on this earth. But that becomes our point of learning and we propel further.

Dear Mr Dhanu and Mr Mahesh,
First of all very thankfull to your kind suggestions,Actually I interested to working in Manufacturing side.In that we have to know every thing about superiors and subordinates. And also we can deal and handling everything like counsellings, traings of employees and welfare etc. like Generalist.
But yesterday I got call from one manufacturing company they told your experience not usefull our organisation.Thats why I have full doubt regarding consultency experience. and how many months/years can we work in consultancy.

Dear Kranthi,
This is Ms. Dhanu :) lol
Now coming to the point. If you really want to go for Generalist Profile in Manufacturing company, frankly, consultancy experience would not help you. In fact it would count as Zero for the role you are seeking for.
I would suggest, don't be industry specific too early. First try to get entry level role for generalist function or relevant job. Get atleast 1-2 years experience & upgrade your knowledge & skills and then try for your preferred employer.
I guess this would suffice the doubt.
All d best!!!!!!!!!!
