Hi Varsha

Instead of having random themes, in the start of the year decide theme for the year. All monthly themes will center around the Annual theme, This will ensure that a set objective is fully covered and some tangible benefits also accrue in the process.

Eg. Annual Theme - Family
Jan - My Family -
- Employees get a family photo and put it up on the notice board
- They write 5 points they appreciate in each family member
- Get a professional cartoonist or caricature artiste to sketch the employee and gift them that pic so that they can show their family etc.
- Every employees family member who celebrates his/ her birthday in that month will be given a small token by the company ( have a different token gift for each month)

Feb - Family outing and bonding

Mar - Family talent and skills

Dear Varsha,
As shared in your post, we understand you require arranging events every month. When you plan the themes and work towards those events, please make your goals to be achieved very clear. As Jacob suggested you to build a calendar, try integrating it with the targets and keep them measurable.

You may decide the goals in an alignment with what is required by your organization. It would help you make your efforts far less abrupt and keep the outcome focussed.

Dear Varsha,
Here are few tips for you, hope it will help:-
1. You can choose the themes based on the month, for example December could be something related to winters, July could be something related to summers and if its a festive month make the theme according to the festival.
2. Make sure each month there is something new apart from previous month theme. If you will choose single theme for a whole year it will be little monotonous. Thus maintaining different themes each month will be more lively .
3. You can choose one theme for each month and repeat it every year, if you want you can make random selections thus all you need to do is decide on total number of 12 themes and keep repeating it each year, if you want make it a random selection.
4. Suppose for November you can look what are the special days falling this month and decide a n event based on that. For example - 14th being children day you can make you employees to donate some thing from their side (not money) to some charity organization or orphanage to help in betterment of those kids. Could be cloths, books, colors, etc.

You can create themes with the help of posters and danglers, tent cards etc.
There are varied topics. Business topics like Customer Service, Mission Possible (How to achieve the targets and goals) etc are good
On the other hand social topics like Proud to be an Indian, Save a child etc are there. Environmental topics like GO Green, Health//safety topics like Fight Obesity, Office Exercises etc are again very helpful.
