The debates on motivation are myriad but still the subject is so fascinating.I am taking the liberty of posting a presentation i did to a welfare officers gathering some time ago.The context & specifics might be different but i thought there are a few universal take homes .

The Mulla story goes like this....
One night around 8 pm,the villagers find our Mulla frantically searching for something near a lamp post.Up on knowing Mulla lost a gold coin,every one joins the search to help Mulla.After 4 hours of vigorous search,they could find anything.One villager asks Mulla in sheer exasperation...are you sure you have lost your coin here?..Why..no...i lost it near that neem tree...Mulla replies.Then why are you searching here?
Because there is LIGHT here!Mulla replies.
Friends...most of us are like Mulla only...we search for solutions some where else rather than in the problem area!!
