Urgent help needed.

I have one query related to notice pay. If any person submits his resignation with a notice of one month or some days and in the event the company doesn't want to allow the person to continue working and wishes to relieve them immediately, do we have to pay salary and also adjust the notice pay, or do we only have to consider the days as notice pay?

Please clarify.
