Dear Mr Rajendra Kindly do not mind, if I point out that there are many grammatical mistakes in the mail written by you. A well drafted mail would always get better and more responses. Regards RB

Dear All,
By Flexible time, we can control this problem. The employee needs to work 8 hours per day. When he reaches to office from that time his work time will start and /or to be calculated. For example: He/she reaches office at 8:30 am instead of 8:00 am then he has to work up to 5:30 pm, I have considered one hour for lunch time.

It is so sad to note that the younger generation has no time concious. I doubt whether there is a meaure for their productivity. I worked for a Public Sector Undertaking with American Collaboration and he Office Hours wre between 8 AM and 4.45PM 5 days a week. It will be interesting to note that all most all will be in time and some will be before time. The employees had the ownership. Same way, all must leave the office in time. If we sit late, there will be a remark in the performance appraisal "not planned well to complete the work in time". Working late was a disgrace.The employees also will have more time to spend with the family. ( On Sunday morning, the child should not ask "who is thi Uncle?) There should be a revival in work culture.

Dear Rajendra
Need to first understand dyanamics of business and impact of late coming on the same . for example if it is a software co and employee comes late but still delivers project it should be fine . if it is a facotory environment we need to have a efficent time Office system and we need to define process of attadence and communicate the policy clearly, need to sit with business and understand the loss that is going to incur and need to take action accordingly .
In any case nature of job and impact on the business will determine the importance of the same . As a HR we need to follow the spirit of the rule and set the process and system and business has to implement the same .

Use "Early In and Late Out" policy
You come early before everyone and start marking their attendance daily. and also their out times next day first thing in mornings......looking at the data sheet, you can take it up with the concerened reporting supervisor or someone superior in the office.....if favouritism exists pre-dominantly wherein a few are ignored then it will be difficult to disciple bcoz employees witll give the example of others who come late n are not pulled up.....for this you first need to take the support of all such favourite's reporting supervisors and explain them the cause n effects of the same...then go ahead with the policies.....remember attendance handling is a common issue in every organization n has to be dealt with tact, control and flexibility so as to get the maximum output and showing justice at the same time....................rgrds

Dear Rajender,
This is the common probleme arise in every industry but if you want to controle this kind of behaviour of employees. There are nos of steps or policy could be implemented to avoid such accurances i.e.;
1) Adjust/Deduct one EL/PL on Continous 2 late
2) Thru announcing attendance bonus on Qtrly & Yearly Basis (based on their presence & performed hours), if a person having more thant 98% attendance in a perticular QTR give him/her a X attendance bonus amount Rs.3000/-. This kind of lucrative offer will encourage employee to stop long absenteeism and late coming
3) Track their actual working hours with minimum hours and accordingly penalized or make the deduction in payroll.
4) Flexi working hours also very popular in today

This is an attitude and culture issue. Try to counsel the latecommer, if it does not work then you may have to go for disciplanary actions under the Model Standing Orders. Line managers should be made responsible for the same.
