"Change" Techniques / Methods for Implementation with Hilarious Stories and Morals

Recently, I conducted a training program on "Change Management." I am sharing my notes here.

For introducing "Change," managers use several methods. I have grouped the tried and tested methods (21 methods) under four techniques:

"SAMA" (Persuasion to get things done)

"DANA" (To persuade and offer incentives)

"BEDA" (Selectively discriminate and differentiate)

and "DANDA" (Use of force)

I have attached 3 attachments:

Attachment 1: Change Management Techniques Matrix.
This provides a general idea of the usefulness of a technique and the appropriate situation.

Attachment 2: Change Management Process Flow
This outlines a sequence of methods under each technique that can be used to effect a change. All the methods under each technique are numbered, and details of methods can be found in Attachment 3.

Attachment 3: Change Management Methods
Under each method, you will find 'Discussion Points,' 'The Story,' and 'Moral.' Each story and the moral given are relevant to the corresponding method. The stories are inspiring and hilarious.

I have not provided any case studies/examples. I request the members to post their experiences in 4 or 5 lines on how they brought about a change, methods used, and stories if any. Your contribution will be very useful to all.

Compliments to Mr. Sambasivam,

The ideas and topics covered have been fabulous. I think most people forget the tool of motivation (Sama kind you mentioned), and top management often underestimates the power of motivation and involvement of the total team, opting for other tools you mentioned (bheda and danda). As a result, most transformation exercises end in failures.
