Yours is branded company or unbranded company that I don't know but getting right candidate is always a challenge for unbranded company.
One thing you can do is to attract the erstwhile insurance agents and insurance industry people. Of late, sale of ULIP does not give them sufficient commission. So many insurance advisers and others are moving out to other industries. You can train them and use them.
But the real catch lies in marketing. To have a product pull, your marketing efforts should be strong. While sales persons fight in the actual battleground, marketing chooses or decides the battleground. Valour of sales persons is no substitute for the wrong choice of battleground.
The second important aspect is sales training also. Have you devised indigenous sales process? Please make it a point that ISO process is different from sales process. You need to train your staffs of sales process.
When you give target to the sales persons, you decide the end. But then you should also guide them adopting means. "Means" are yours and "ends" are mine, this mentality will never work.

But when I post the requirements in portal, I look for sales executive who has worked for relevant IT industries. like who has worked for IT hardware,networking products,software product sales, we are in this industries since 15yrs, and now we are standing within top 10 in IT infrastucture providers.
Im trying to look for candidates who has studied BE in computers/ BSC in computers with MBA or non MAB and who are working for wrong industries and they have good ethics & principles for sales/marketing.
