Dear All,
Im facing problems in Recruitments since long time I have posted in portals for IT hardware Purchase Executive & Business Development Executives - for IT hardware & software product sales. Im not getting the right candidate. If I get 1 or 2 right candidate, when I talk about the offer salary package and the targets to be achived monthy ie (1:5)they never turn up.
Please give me tips on changing the strategy in recruitment to get better candidates.
And Also help me giving tips to plan up future recruitments, in case a employee suddenly quiting a job and we need to replace asap. We are now in Top ten in IT infrastructure provider industries.

Dear Shobha,

Yours is branded company or unbranded company that I don't know but getting right candidate is always a challenge for unbranded company.

One thing you can do is to attract the erstwhile insurance agents and insurance industry people. Of late, sale of ULIP does not give them sufficient commission. So many insurance advisers and others are moving out to other industries. You can train them and use them.

But the real catch lies in marketing. To have a product pull, your marketing efforts should be strong. While sales persons fight in the actual battleground, marketing chooses or decides the battleground. Valour of sales persons is no substitute for the wrong choice of battleground.

The second important aspect is sales training also. Have you devised indigenous sales process? Please make it a point that ISO process is different from sales process. You need to train your staffs of sales process.

When you give target to the sales persons, you decide the end. But then you should also guide them adopting means. "Means" are yours and "ends" are mine, this mentality will never work.

Ok...
