Hi !
Please suggest any measures that we can take as HR , on Ayodhya verdict on 24th September 2010, where cities are already on High alert. Most of employees are in panic situation about coming to workplace.
How to make employees alert about any mishaps that might take place on verdict day.
I would welcome your suggestions & ideas.....:)

Ayodhya verdict is no way going to influence any dedicated worker. Our government is capable of handling the situation and due care would be taken of every citizen. regards

Is any IT company in Bangalore declaring Holiday on Friday - Sept 24th 2010 (suggesting an alternate working day on a weekend in the future) to avoid any unforeseen consequenses due to the Ayodhya verdict? pls revert.

As much we would like to believe that the Govt will take precautions it is better we don’t fall at the cross roads. In my opinion any issue relating to the Aydhoya controversy should not be taken lightly.
Nevertheless, the verdict will be out only after 3:00pm therefore I am contemplating to advise employees to come in and leaving early.

Its good for an HR to be alert on such issues where law and order situation may hamper employees attendance and productivity.
However, we must have faith on the government and the law and order machinery. By voicing our fears and apprehensions so openly, are not we creating something like a 'self-fulfilling prophecy'.
Government has already banned "bulk sms" services for some time so that panic and chaos is not created, intentionally or un-intentionally; and has taken all necessary steps to prevent any unsavoury situation.
Let us not provide more fodder to the rumour-mongering-mills and hope for the best - "all is well" !!

After what happned in Mumbai,Pune and again now in Jama masjid. And on top of this there is something called CWG, I feel it is better that we take care of ourselves.
Following are particularly sensitive areas Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka, this is as per a new article on web.
At the same time I do have faith in my nations law enforcement agencies.But then they have limitation and hence it is also each and every individuals reponsibility that we take neccessary steps to prevent and anti social activities.
Half day would be the best option I assume. And holiday for females who travel quiet a lot to reach office should be given leave. And in Karnataka and UP employers should make it a holiday.
If the employer plans to keep the office working then there should be notice enlisting do's and dont's for employee for the 24 September 2010

Dear Guys,
It is better to take care of ourself than blaming the Govt Later. For Tomm alone please start bit early from office.
Even thought the Police Dept is capable of Handling these kind of issues, we cannot expect every them to help us always.

There is no doubt that Ayodhya case is a sensitive issue and since we cant take a risk our companies Hyderabad branch is going to declared a holiday but on the other side Bangalore branch will be having half day and all the employees will be requested to report early. So in my opinion depending upon the place and the sensitivity of the location, decision (holiday or half day) should be taken accordingly.

This issue is quite critical. Anything can happen anywhere in India.
My company is in Pune and we have decided to start work ealry in the morning and leave by 3.30. Employee who are staying far,we are planning to leave them by 2 depending on the outside situation.
Rumors and all things are going to make them feel uneasy when they are at work. So I think this is the possible best Idea.
