i am working as a freelance network engineer for some 6 small scale companies. they dont have the corporate structure with a HR and all.

Freelance network engineer as in as and when they face networking issues they ring me up and i visit them to solve it. I am working for past 1 years till date. i am planning to make a shift to a permanent employer.

i would like to have experience certificate from them but dont know how the experience letter format will be. i googled, found few formats but all are for full-time or part time employees.

i dont know what designation should i put for myself as mine is per call basis.

i prepared a sample please see if its correct.

To whomsoever it may concern

this is to certify that mr. xyz was employed with our company xyz from --- to till date as network engineer.

his major responsibility included implementing and configuring network devices and troubleshooting network related problems. He was also responsible for maintaining and upgrading computer software and hardware

His technical skill and performance was very satisfactory. We are confident he will perform his duties well in his future employment.

We wish him all success in his future endeavors.

Name (name of the owner)
designation (here it will be company owner designation right?. like ceo or something like that)

this will be taken on the company letter head right?
and i am still working for them for using past tense will be appropriate in the letter or it should be all present tense?

:) i think the letter sound bit childish :) can it be improved to be so that it sounds professional? was not able to found a template of same format
also the alignment, should it be in center of letter pad?

please guide.
thank you.

As you have mentioned it was a free lancing job, please do include it in the letter. The draft that you have shared includes the position but do not include the job details. This was a time/project based role ? Please ensure you mention the specific duties delivered or else you will get generalised . Such as , your work included server maintenance or the desktop trouble shooting .
Ideally an experience letter do not include too many details. But you need to ensure that your exposure in this job, do get underplayed by a general letter .
Please do visit the following link in order to understand official format .

shall i mention my position as freelance network engineer instead of 'network engineer' ?
its not time or project based. its more like dial on demand :D
i mean, when they face problem these ppl call me for troubleshooting the network and get it right.
"responsibility included implementing and configuring network devices and troubleshooting network related problems. He was also responsible for maintaining and upgrading computer software and hardware "
what i quoted above is what basically i did. yes its a generalized view but if i'll write much in detail then exp letter will lengthen.
ty for the ref links and input. i will look into it and will post a fresh and final version. please just check it.

This is to certify that Mr. (name) is working with our organization as Freelance Network Engineer since ---- to till date.
