I have been looking for Sharepoint developers for my company since long time. But this has not turned to be a good hunt for me.
I am not looking for Consultancies supplying manpower because we have had not so good experience with them previously. They all speak the same words but can do nothing (no offence to them, but this is just in professional terms). None of these were able to get us more than 2 Sharepoint Developers.
I have tried 2 job portals but not a very good response from them as well.
I do not understand from where can I get these professionals as networking is taking its toll. Besides, we are not a big name in the market to pay huge amounts and get people.
I would be so grateful to all if I could be shown a way out from this.
Regards,
Ashlesha

Dear Ashlesha,
Being an HR in a IT firm, i understand the issue that you are facing. Experienced Sharepoint developers will be tough to find by networking, have you tried using Naukri Portal? they have good database, also if you can share the details with me at then basically i have couple of refrences with he for Gujarat location.

Hello Ashlesha,

I understand your concerns as well as the frustrations.

but I think it's unfair to paint the whole lot with the same brush based on your experience with a few--be they Consultancies or Portals.

We have had good [& successful] experience in handling such situations & skills. It all depends on HOW we figure-out & MATCH the reqmts vis-a-vis the resources.

Let me suggest a way out--that will, I am sure, result in a WIN-WIN situation for all--you, us, as well as the selected candidate. We will support you in filling-up the first position FREE OF COST to your Company. If we succeed, the second SharePoint position will be on a chargeable basis--and hope there would be a long-term benefit for us as your Preferred Resourcing Partner :-) [just kidding pl].

Pl mail the detailed Job specs to my mail ID:

If you can also share the details of your experiences in filling these positions [where did you get stuck--salary, location, etc?], that could speed-up our response.

We can ensure we will get back to you in 24 hrs.

Rgds,

TS

Hi Ashlesha,
I can understand your dilemma. When searching for niche positions and skills, it always helps if you enter into contracts with multiple consultants. You can also tie up with consultants from multiple cities. The benefit of doing this is that you can reach out to a wider audience without any upfront investment. You only pay consultants if they get you the people you need.
Another good idea to find Sharepoint developers is to tie up with institutions and education centers that provide training in Sharepoint. You can also try head-hunting through LinkedIn and similar professional networking websites. Last but not the least, you have got Yahoo groups wherein there groups for almost every IT skill you need.
Of course, having access to Naukri or Monster is definitely going to be a big help, as would be focused advertising in Times of India Ascent for Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, and Delhi.
Hope this should help you find a solution to your issues.
Warm Regards,
Gaurang Shah
