Hi All,
I am a new member to this Site. Am working as a Training Executive in an IT Co. Please let me know how should I plan a Knowledge Sharing Session for Junior Employees. Is this session only for solving problems or it can also be done for sharing knowledge between the employees on
what they are working upon
their roles
the problems they are facing.

Dear Prerna,
Your interest in arranging KSS is laudable. I had taken part in such a session in early 2000, when we the researchers were expected to present to other researchers every week during lunch breaks. Had you searched the web for ideas you would have found some excellent material. For example, http://km.fao.org/uploads/media/CIDA..._Knowledge.pdf contains ppt presentation on that topic.
and The 3Cs of Knowledge Sharing gives some information about The 3Cs of Knowledge Sharing: Culture, Co-opetition and Commitment.
Have a nice day.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for the material you shared . In addition to what you have mentioned , here are few practices that I came across.
  1. Call for an idea presentation within or outside the current role held by the employee.
  2. Arrange for role plays by interchanging the actual roles. Let a developer play a business analyst, a quality analyst play a developer , a project manager play quality analyst and finally a business analyst play a Project manager !
    • Create a situation/case relevant to one of the current issues. It would be really fun to make one act and think like others.
    • To make it more interesting, add a twist by asking them a solution while playing those roles :)
    • It might require you to plan for such a session. But the end result would be worth it.
Wish you all the best!

Hi there,
Its very easy to have knowledge sharing session, you can send e-mail to all employees introducing session where you can give presentations to them to give them new information, teach them to do something or even introduce an idea and subject it to debate weather the organization need it or not. Make it as informal as possible yet it has to be taken seriously. My previous organization has designated Tuesday to hold these sessions in the Organization pantry and everyone is invited to attend and its not compulsory for on hour 10 to 11 am .
You can create a webpage/ blog in your internet site of your organsaition where people can load documents, presentations, information for the whole organsaition benefit as a way of sharing knowledge even material you have been given on training sessions you have attended that to can be up loaded in you have soft copies and share with everyone.
