Hi
Pl advise criteria (and also statutory and regulatory req) for fixation of minimum wage for industries not (in this case dry flower processing) listed in the scheduled employment (here tamil naidu).

Dear Maahiein,
In my opinion unless & until any of the employment is not added in the list of schedule employments under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 by the State Govt.as per section 27 of this Act,the State Govt. is not to fix the minimum rates of wages for employees working in that employment. Once the employment is added in the list of schedule employments then as per section 3 the appropriate Govt.shall fix the minimum rates of wages for employees employed therein.

Hi What shld be the applicable minimum wage for "Hammocks" manufacturing industry in tamilnaidu. pl note that Hammocks manufacturing is not listed in schedule employment. Pl advise. reg maahiein

Dear Maahiein,
If you interested in paying minimum rates of wages to your employees as fixed by the Govt. for employees working with other schedule employments then go ahead accordingly.

Dear Maahiein, You can approach the area labour office to have the minimum rates of wages of other schedule employments prevailing in your area.
