Hie Ms. Shubhada,
U can start by the following steps like-
1- make a list of bday's/ anniversories of all employees with their email id's & contact no.s
2- send one circular to all departmental heads/ seniors about this planning.
3- Than every bday send 1 bday E-card to that employee.
4- U can also try for gifts or buckey if all employees are ready to contribute some money for that.
5- buy 1 cake (bill from company accounts dept.( if your com. doesnt have any problem.
Its is very motivating becoz i also organize bdays for my staff/ employees.
Good All The Very Best
With Warm Regards,

Dear Shubhada,
It's really a great idea... to motivate the employees... follow some simple ideas to motivate your employees without the cost to the company, such as ;
1. Birthday message set on his/her PC - Desktop, before his office timings.
2. E- Cards mailed to the candidate with the CC to other employees
3. Birthday Message on the notice board of the office.
4. Lastly, If your companys permits to contribute a bit, then decorate his workplace / desk with artificial garlands (which can be reused), a small cake or a small gesture of an HR Person to personally go to his desk and give him/her regard for the birthday with a small bookey.
note : never ask the birthday person to come to you, instead you make a habit to go to him and wish.

hi..
this is a good initiative.. what you can do is to start with you may ask all employees to conribute 1 % of theitr basic salary for welfare activities for employees.. in this way you can collect funds and do such ceremonies.
let me know if this could help you or not.

Hi,
You can also do this birthday celebration as part of employees recreation activities "Birthdays of the month"
Every month end you can arrange a small get-together and you invite all department staff and buy a small cake and invite all the birthday employees who's birthday falls on that particular months and ask them to cut the cake.

Hi Shubhada,
You can actually make a list of employees who's b'day would be on a particular month and put the same on the notice board, on their special day you can decorate their work station with some balloons, flower petals or with some shining paper and when they enter to the office if you have speakers connected to your system you can play a happy birthday song for them and along with them all of you can wish the employee.

Hi,
1. I give employees plant or flowers
2. keep small card where all have written different messages for him
3. Decorate work station
4. keep some chocolates
5. it automatically flashes on our internal communication portal
6. Put on notice board
7. send mail to him.. made and designed by me and mark CEO, MD and his PM in cc where these levels might forget and it they come across they would wish the employee which might give motivation and smile on employees face
8. Monthly b.d celebration of all employees take place on last friday of the month with some event.. with refreshment.
9. we have introduced b.d off policy so confirmed employees enjoy holiday with friends and family and loved ones. it is paid in nature and for employees on probation we make above things for appreciating they coming to office on theirs special day

Hi All,
Once I had tried to take a cake and celebrate with the birthday man and all the other employees in the office after the official hours and to my surprise it clicked and we all had a great bonding during this process.
Since then my employees wait eagerly for other employees birthday.. and we celebrate it. due to this we have generated a friendly atmosphere on these days and A PERSONAL TOUCH always helps in getting things together.
Now the bonding is more and my production has also gone up.
Cheers to them and all.
Thanks and Regards

Just imagine, if it was your birthday; what would you like to get when you reached your office...
I would like to add the following:
1 Make sure that the team members of the birthday employee are aware of the birthday of one of their team members
2 Make the team along with as many senior management staff to sing happy birthday for the employee
3 The confirmed employees may be granted half - day off
4 Send ecard or a designed email to the employee and cc it to all team members and sr management.
5 organize a small team game to celebrate the occasion - eg musical chair etc.. there are a host of game ideas on the net.
These do not need any finances and are sure to make one's birthday - a memorable one!!

Hi Shubadha:
I feel that the employee's want to be recognized is parallel to the monetary/tangible benefits that he gets. You may want to have a contribution from the employees, so that on their special days, you could buy a cake and have a celebration.
Singing the B'day song in public and asking him/her to say a few words and the seniors saying a few words about the employee would go a long way. You could design cards inhouse and have a print out done in office itself.
Do let me know if this helps. If you need further inputs as well do let me know.
Regards,
Rohan
