All seniors, please guide

Hey,

Im with a MNC in punjab and focussing on contract labor issues there. Loads of Discreapncies were observed some of which are:

1. The Security takes attendance on gate and is taken only once during the whole day and additions and deletions to the list are made by security by requests from the contractors. There is no transparency and due to this stealing things has become common in the premises. How do I curb this?

2. The contract labor(almost 90%) has been working in the factory for more than 5 years and is paid overtime at single rate and are entitled to only minimum wages baring a few(who get more than minimum). How to do i get management to see their bad condition?

3. Some of the Contarct workers are given only Rs80 per day incl Overtime , but in registers The same wage is shown as Minimum, so that mangement can not come to know of it...how do I Ensure that this does not happen?

Hey seniors, please help me out

I have been given charge to deal with these issues

Dear
1st of all maintain all the attendance and other records at ur end.
secondly talk to the contracter about all these issues and ask him for clarification for the differences..
Aslo go through the contract labour aggrement which this vendor had with ur company.. from this u will get the clarity.
once u gather this much info then let us know the status will tell u the next step.. also get some good labour law manual will be helpfull for u.

thanx for replying dear!!
i hv already talked to the contractors for clarification, but what they say is that the workers lie. but i hv proofs which i wl submit to the mgt later...
Is there some mechanism by which records of attendance can be taken care of...as workers come in shifts 24 hours and it is not psbl to keep a check on attendance this way...
Waiting for ur reply earnestly :)

Is the question you are asking just hypothetical or actual? Why I am asking is: I find you joined the list 4 days back and you were an HR student at Pune; now you say you are working for an MNC in Punjab and already entrusted with a very sensitive and perhaps dangerous issue.
Anyway, my suggestion is: whatever you do in the matter of the manipulations involved, do it carefully and tactfully. Wherever somebody's malpractices have a chance to be exposed, serious danger lurks!

hello
ask him to submit you with PF and ESI challans for the employees at your end. also ask him to provide you with all forms like 3A, 6A etc, which you can verify, get their respective numbers etc.
secondly, make it compulsory for him to pay salary in your presence, ask him to get the payroll signed by a staff of the company.
i think your problem would be to some extent solved. but note that you will have to be vigilant always.

Hi,
I am New Member My Name is Surender Singh. Well you can make one Salary Card with Name Employee Snap, ESI & P.F Number , Days Working With Dept. & each card is to be signed by HR Person while employees enter at Gate depending upon Casual Request from Dept. and end of Month you can calculate & compare the Data by Manpower request by Dept and Attendance Card and finally make the Salary card & that to be signed by Each relevant employees. As Salary of almost employees are same ( Except Few that can be manage by Manually ) you can calculate the total days as per Attendance cards signed by HR pERSON AND Manpower request.
Further , Salary has to be distribute in presence of HR Person.
We have used this in my previous Org.
Thx
