Is that Psychological need or basic need is different or same acc. to maslow need motivation theory.This is the 1st step of the pyramid and we can say psychological need/basic need. Plz tell me i m right or not..

its the same......maslow puts psychological needs as the first phase...i.ie.food clothing etc.....which are nothing but "basic" needs of any human....hope this answers ur question... cheers Ashwin

You are equating psychological needs with basic needs !!
Perhaps you need to re-visit Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
At the bottom of the pyramid lies the Physiological Needs, a.k.a. the Basic Needs or physical needs; which are necessary to sustain life; such as food, water, sleep, shelter,warmth etc.
As people progress up the pyramid, and beyond the Safety (or Security) Needs; needs become increasingly social and psychological ; such as Love and Belongingness needs a.k.a Social Needs; Esteem Needs and Self Actualization Needs.

Mr. Raj kumar's statment is quite correct for this discussion. In Maslow's hierarchy of needs at the bottom i.e. first need is Physilogical need not psychological need.
