Hello every1,
Even after receiving their payments in time n even after providing every benefits and facilities the workers in d plant r not motivated enough. there has been no increase in the production. can u tell me how to motivate the workers so that the production in d plant increases?

Salary and benefit may not be the real problem.Find the root cause and eliminate it...............Problems are many in a manufacturing industry......

Salary and benefit do not always motivate a person. It is one method to encourage the persons to derive more by doing more. There are also other methods.

1. If a person is not delivering atleast 75% of his ability, then it is time that you discuss the issue.

First if there is an organisation, please call for a meeting with the workers. Discuss with them the expectations of the company, future plans, and set goals for each department.
Second, please seek the cooperation of the leaders of the Union, if any. Always keep the minutes carefully recorded and signed by the participants. A video recording is always a good idea.
Third, after some days, if the situation do not improve, then find out the alternate ways of doing the things, like outsourcing, engaging casual labourers, investing in uptodate machinery etc.,
Fourth, this tough, but cannot be avoided. Observe the output of the personnel and bring it to their knowledge what they are lacking and how to correct it. Record your interactions and the next step is issue a charge memo citing the deficiencies.
ultimately, if for all these actions, there is no change, then it is time to bring new personnel and bid good bye to them.

Motivation can be achieved through coercion, personal affinity, financial benefit, love for the organisation and above all, how the top managements behave and their culture. You can get more from your subordinates only if you are good.

You need to go through basic motivation techniques once again..you have to find out that what is the necessity of workesr and accordingly you have to plan. Also nature of work and their present salary...compensation structure..the peer group the supervisor, every thing plays a role. so its almost impossible to blindly suggest a way. Figure out the problem first then you have ample of motivation techniques. Definitely at-least one of them will work...good luck.

Something is really amiss here. Is it some sort of communication gap? Do a small employee survey to find out and then fill the gap creatively. May be a house journal could do the trick.

try doing a survey if possible, and find out the deviation. money and benefits only cannot solve the purpose, try being more interactive, launch new rewarding programs, have small motivational meetings with them and try to explain the situation. enrich their jobs make them more responsible etc...

Hi,
Motivation requires many parameters not only salary in time, and benefits they are getting, identify, the supervisor/team leaders who are really good in their subject and guiding the employees in their production activity. Also, check the production target is given which is not achievable(ie, with this capacity of the machinery, due to lack of training in the adequate subject to the workmen, etc). Pls. see that due to your benefits the employees are sloppy and they start a culture not to work. The rest what darlingangel told is good suggestion.

Introduce the production incentives scheme to the workers, Call for innovative ideas for the improvement of production. Introduce the scheme of `Best employee of the month. Introduce the `zero defect` scheme. Arrange inhouse training and conduct 5S house keeping training programme. There will be definately increase in th eproduction.
