We're currently looking at the job evaluation / sizing of Project Managers in our organisation.
This is the result of our initial scoring of a standard Prince2 Practioner PM role.
KH = D+
Management Breadth = 1
HR Skills = 2
Thinking Env = D
Thinking Challenge = 3
Freedom to Act = D
Budget = 2-
Nature of Impact = C
By way of providing an external reference point, I'm after information or worked examples on similar Project Manager roles in other organisations.

Hi!

Simply giving the position title and your own rating on some factors and sub-factors using the HayGroup point factor methodology won't make anyone capable of making a sound and credible assessment of the points you have given to the position. Moreover, you need to have the chart to really be able to do it correctly.

A theoritical evaluation and rating of a job/ position can only be done when a good Job Description (JD) is on hand. The best procedure in evaluating a job is getting first hand knowledge via Job Analysis and writing the JD.

Moreover, there are only three (3) major factors used in the Hay Profile System, namely: Knowhow (KH), Problem Solving(PS), and Accountability (Acc). The other factors you mentioned above are simply sub-factors of the above-mentioned major factors. Also, you need to get the Profile Rating (whether it is a A or a P) of the job in order to validate and know whether your scores are correct or not. The method of profiling is done by comparing the scores of the PS and the Acc.

I fully agree with Ed Llarena, firstly one should have the complete JD and it is always best to know from the person himself about what his job role is. Hay profile system talks about KH, PS and Accountability of a job not person and the scores arrived at.
