just dont worry about any legal action, thts simple non sense on part of these corporates.I can assure of lot many such incidents, these companies can do nothing at all. What about the people who leaves in between the training period?? The company can do nothing apart from sending 2-3 legal letters to ur place, thts all..just treat them like a waste paper and throw in a bin.Trust me and dont panic.Do as ur condition asks you to , thts it!!

Dear Krishna
Write a simple letter and state the facts and ask for waiver of notice period. If possible attach medical papers or similar documents to prove that your request is genuine.
I beg to differ with Shikha. Every employee would like to join an organisation in a systematic way like interview, selection, joining, induction etc., they should also leave the organisation as per the system of the organisation. Employee can't abandon the responsibility and diasppear!!! More than talking about what an organisation can do in such cases, let us focus on ethics of an employee. As an employee, he should follow the procedure of separation and leave the organisation honourably. In my opinion, an employee who abandons his employment, will never progress in his career. He can attain short term happiness but not long term success.

Hi Bhavan,
I appreciate ur advise regarding being ethical, but no one would like to actually abscond after serving the company for long, its only when company starts creating mess with our career. In the case mentioned, management is actually ignorant n creating trouble with the lady who wanted to quit ethically. No doubt , we should be quite ethical, as you rightly said, but here the ethics are overpowering almost 2 month salary which actually matters.right??
Anyways , thanks for guidance.
