Dear Seniors, i have completed my MBA in HR.i want to improve my English.can anyone suggest me which institute gives standard fluent english and voice and acent training in india?
From India, Tiruppur
HI. No Institute can really make u American.. in fact even in states their are different accents.. The best way to do this :
1.. learn good English first
2.. knows their slang and understand the way they speak words.. their are not many.
3.. watch movie and make notes, see if you can understand each and every word they speak...If you can can then ..
4.. start pronouncing it the same way. to start roll your 'r'
5.. practice

Hi Asharun,
The first thing I would like to know abt why American accent.
Accent does not matters at all as fluency and confidence matters.
To improve fluency and confidence, read newspapers, interact in English as much as u can, watch any English programs,BBC news,Vocabulary building bboks,English Magazines...these things are enough to build confidence.
all the best

I am not sure why you are very particular to learn the US accent. I work in one among top big four MNCs in the world.
We never look for someone who is very good at US accent. Though you learn the accent you can't speak like a native American and then it becomes a fake accent.
What all you need to have is a neutral accent. You have completed your MBA in HR so to be a successful as an HR professional you need to concentrate on public speaking and soft skills rather concentrating on any particular accent.
I agree with the other friends suggestions to enhance your communication.

I am a language trainer and let me tell you that Americans are not the best speakers anyways
You need to speak well and with the right pronunciation which will make you a good speaker.
You must try to understand the correct usage of grammer while speaking and then practice it well.
Also you can learn the right way of pronuncing a word by listeing to news channels, I suggest Times Now, it has good content and good speakers.
You can also watch some movies but try to pick up the ones from England.
Try these I am sure they will help.
If you are looking for a structured guidance then I suggest that look for a good institute in your area and join it for sometime. One them could ne Inlingua they are quite good.

Be yourself...
when we try to be something which we are not, we tend to be unhappy.
Learn english as a language not to impress upon someone.
your learning will be faster and you would be more confident when you learn it as a medium to communicate your views.

no doubt that you can learn english if you have that Zeal for the same.. First make your concepts clear about the grammer topics for that you can take the hep of some grammartical books. then be confident and try to communicate in English.. to enhance your confidence try to speak in front of mirror .. don't get scared if you make mistakes in the begining and keep practicing because the more you do mistakes the more you will learn..
and as above suggested take the help of newspapers and watch english news to learn correct pronunciation..
all the best dear !

Hi Asharun,

First and Foremost "Be original and Be Indian".

I dont consider going for American Accent is sensible.

If you have MTI (Mother Tongue Influence) you can go in for Accent Neutralization.

As Ranjna Suggested do watch a lot of news channel's like TIMES NOW.

(Arnab Goswami's Language and Vocab is awesome, just observe him speak and you can pick up a lot from there.)

If it is a Job requirement for you to pick up American Accent then and only then join a Training class for the same.

You can also watch FRIENDS series or Old Sherlock Holmes Series.

Read a lot of newspapers and pickup words which you couldnt understand or pronounce. Lookup on the internet and you will find a pronunciation and meaning for the same. And the most important of it all

SPEAK a LOT OF ENGLISH. Even if you may be wrong just continue. You will notice that you will improve over a period of time. Dont get offended when people will point out ur mistakes take it in a positive stride and learn.

Practice take a man to Perfection.
