Dear All
As per my understanding , any organization storing more than 100 kg of LPG gas in cylinders is required to obtain licence under gas cylinders rules'2004. However i find that organization having 50 cylinders also are not going for licence under pretext that it is connected to a manifold- so to say in use.
Can some one give me input whether it is permited and if yes up to how many cylinders or Quantity.

Anand

Dear Anand,
Storage of LPG more than 100 kgs attaracts obtaining liscence under Gas cylinder rules.
Any number of cylinders which are connected to Manifold will not be considered as stored as that will be ready to use/connected to process.
No liscence is required if it is connected to manifolds.

Dear Mr. Bhandari,
Thankyou for the Document.
Dear Mr. Srinivasa,
If cylinders are connected to Manifold the licence is not required.
I asked Dept of explosives as to how many such manifolds can have in one premises.
e.g. We have one manifold at Canteen, One for Boiler, One for Oil heater and one for powder coating. The law is silent on this.
Thanks & Regards,
Sudhir

Hi Friends,
Whether LPGs installed on Forklift for usage, would be considered for computing the licensed capacity of the premise??
e.g., if the licensed capacity is 1140 kgs. Our Forklift working in the plant is having 190 kgs & LPG at storage is 1140 kgs. Would it be construed to have excess LPG than licensed one ???
thnx
