Hi All
I head OH&S in a telecom ( service provider) ; we have all "office based " work . Do I still need to comply with ESI regulations and have an Accident Register in all of our offices ? All teh employees are covered under mediclaim .
Any help would be appreciated

Dear Ravi
None of the employees earn less than Rs 10000/- p m , we are not a "manufacturing unit" , we provide mediclaim to all our employees . Hence I am wondering if an "accident register " should be maintained at the office as that is really a statutory req under the ESI act . The "shops and est act " does not spell out the need to have such a register

You have said None of the employees earn less than Rs 10000/- p m ,& u are not a "manufacturing unit" , u provide mediclaim to all ur employees but the ESIC Limit is been increased to 15000 wef 1st May 2010 ,I Hope now you have to be covered under ESIC.
