I have a simple question... Say, If a Candidate joins an organization on 1st of april 2010 and is eligible for ESI.... From when can he claim the esi if he requires it?

Under ESI mainly there are mainly two types of benefits 1. Medical Benefit and 2. Cash Benefit.....
For medical benefit the day from which an employees joins in an Covered unit, will be entitled for medical benefit including his family members;
For Cash Benefits, viz., Sickness benefit, Disablement Benefit, Maternity Benefit, Funeral Benefit, etc., every benefit has its own minimum requirements, except Disablement Benefit (accident benefit) and funeral benefit, for which employee is entitled from the second he joins in the insurable employment........

Dear,
If an Employee joined on 1st April, 2010. Return of contributions will be submitted to the ESI during April / September of every year.
He is eligible for ESI benefit only after September, 2010 after submitting the six month contribution to ESI
