Hi .Am yamuna working as a HR in a software firm.Give me some updated HR Policies n principles as earliest as possible.

This is sathish working as Sr.manager-HR. As you rise your interest in HR Polices & Principle and it is not a one shot mail to describe about HR Policy and procedures .It is vital process .Since I can notify in short manner .As your domain is IT they may follow more strong in recruitment policy .Basically they are two core HR process in an firm namely Pre Recruitment process & Post recruitment process. Pre recruitment process which include Screening candidate, head hunting, selection & final interview. Post recruitment process which is wide process starts from Offer till end with Exit.
General HR Policy are…
Recruitment Policy, Induction process Appointment order, Staff career planning, Training policy, payroll policy, statutory policy(P.F ,ESI), Bonus policy , Appraisal Policy, Increments policy, Retention policy & Exit interview policy….

I fully agree with what Sathish has posted. Sathish has put the issue in a very brief and clear manner.
Policies n principles should be structured in a very systematic way and cannot and should not be adopted or copied. They should be tailor made.
Further, Yamuna when you ask for 'Updated Policy', then you should first post your current policy for the fraternity to understand and help you. Please post your current policy and then the group might help you out.
