It depends on company policy, but from a safety point of view, it is very important to have a skilled driver with a license. Additionally, the RTO has a special category for Forklifts like LMV, Two-wheelers, etc.

If the operation of your forklift will be confined to your premises only, no driving license is required for the operator. Now, to ensure safety, it is essential that the operators are trained and certified by a competent authority in the organization. Normally, training will be imparted by the manufacturer/supplier.
