Hi, We are an IT company having 50 employees. Can u suggest me some events that an HR can do in order to make employees comfortable, happy and so that they can enjoy doing work.
Hi Keerat,

Am not much sure whether you are seeking some suggestions for a particular event/day or else in your day-to-day office environment.

If its for a particular occasion then you can plan the following :
  • Annual day function - With their family members
  • Team lunch
  • Outing
  • Best Employee Award for that particular year
  • Celebrating festivals
  • Celebrating employee birthdays
If its on daily basis then here it goes :
  • Weekly or Monthly training sessions by HR on general topics.
  • Thought for the day on the notice board.
  • Monthly awards on performance - Just a certificate will do
  • Set up a white board in the main hall and use that to announce the events. Something interesting can be written on the board daily like wishing a particular employee on their birthday and others can sign on it (or) Puzzles (or) Tongue twisters (Or) Joke for the day etc.
  • General meet-up of employees with management once in 6months. Here the HR in front of the management can let the employees know about their company accomplishments, growth rate, what else the employee can contribute to their company etc..
  • HR can publish their own company magazine - which includes articles, poetry, stories, paintings, jokes etc... contributed by the employees.
  • Can set up Quality session meetings monthly with employees to know their needs.
and lot more...................

There are two ways in doing that :

1. Either call the employees for a training session or mail it as per your convenience.

Topics are as follows:
  • Inspiring PPT / Story with good moral that is related to professional environment - Use a projector.
  • Professional Ethics
  • Team work.
  • Positive Attitude
  • Communication skills
  • First Impression
  • Time Management
  • Behavioural skills
  • Stress Management
  • Importance of training
  • How to succeed
  • Presentation Skills
  • Leadership qualities
  • Personality development
  • Competency Approach to Human Resource Management
  • Dressing sense
  • Team Spirit
  • Respect
  • Mentoring
  • Business and mail etiquettes etc.....
2. Try to conduct weekly or monthly training sessions where not only the HR but also the members from each department take responsibility in training the employees on various topics - week wise which may be related to their work or on any general topics. This can be also named as "Skill-Buliding session".

Ex :
  • 1st week HR does
  • 2nd week System Admin
  • 3rd week Programmer
  • 4th week Accounts
  • 5th week Marketing
  • 6th week Testing and so on............
Each department can choose a particular day(common for all) in a week - common time & place to meet. HR can initiate this process.

Let me know whether it is of any use to you.
