Dear Ruchi,
Hope you have knowledge in the following laws:
1. Minimum Wages Act- ( check Minimum wages act of your state. In delhi and Hyderabad, minimum wages act get amended once in six months, rest states its only once in year)
2. Bonus act
3. Shops and establishment act. It covers some laws related to labour.

Dear Subramanian,
This is for your information that Minimum Wages Act is a Central Act & it is not got amended by the States at regular intervals. It seems that you are talking about the minimum rates of wages. Shops & Establishment Act is a State Act. This Act also nothing to do with coverage of other labour laws.
Submitted only for sake of information.

Hi There,
Good to see your reply. If I am not wrong, Shops and Establishment act of a particular state does cover some provisions related to labour. Eg:- Shops and Establishment act -1954 for Delhi covers rules/provisions related to Leave, Minimum rates of wages, working hours etc.

Please read about industrial dispute act and contract labour regulation and abolition act. These are very useful social legislation. A practitioner in HR field should know about these.
Thanks,
