Dear HR Professionals
Please carify if Production Manager, Quality Manager, Tool Room Manager, Maintenance Head, Store Incharge and their teams or people working under them at various levels( Manager/ Deputy Manager/ Asstt Manager/ Engineer/ Sr Engineer) will come under the definition of "Workman" as given in section 2(s) of ID Act,1947. Also if other people working in plant come under this category (HR Head, Purchase Head, Marketing Head etc).

Workman is any person including Apprentice employed in any industry to do any manual, unskiled, skilled, technical, operational, clerical or supervisory work for hire or reward. But does not include persons subject to Army/Air force/Navy act, employed in police service employed in managerial or administrative capacity or who are employed in supervisory capacity draws wages exceeding Rs 1600/- per month
