Dear All, I don’t think the calculation should be on no. working days. If we are making calculation in march for 30 days then in feb also we can calculate it for 30 days also. Regards, Minal

As per rule a daily wage workers, if he has worked for six days continuously, he shall be paid one day extra salary for seventh days i.e. sunday or monday whichever days your company has decided that it will be closed holiday. As per rules no employer can take work for more than 48 hours a week. He has to give break ( closed holiday) for one day after completion of 48 hours @ 6 hours a day with recess of half an hour every day. When an appointment is on monthly basis employer has to pay salary for 30 days which includes four rest days or closed holidays the so called sunday. In shops the weekly off days may be monday, tudesday, wednesday as the case may be with the consultation with chamber of commerce, Govt. authorities.

For daily wage workers who has worked for say 46 days, for first 30 days he will get full salary and for remaining sixteen days it will be calculated by dividing total wage (basis+ DA) divided by 26 and multiplied by 16. For example if monthly salary is 4000 it will be 4000/26*16. You can take reference from the Form VI issued by appropriate Govt. for engaging contract, daily wage employees. You can also get this reference from the Govt. Notification by respective labour department fixing minimum wages for skilled, unskilled, skilled, highly skilled workers.

It is to be intimated to whosoever concern that the calculation of salary on the basis of no. of days like feb, 28 days or 29 days.....OR a standard 30 days to be taken into account varies from organization to organization..
This is what my belief is and I accede upon that as well, as per my experiences had been into various organizations.
So please this is a humble request to evrybody that what I have posted in my previous postings is not fully being followed by each and evry organization, pertaining to no. of days in a month (28, 29 OR 30), but varies from organization to organization.
