Hello, I am working as an HR for a company which is into embedded systems. I am a new joiner and I have to frame a leave policy for my company. I want to know how I can make a good leave policy. How many SL, EL, LOP, and CL should be given? The Shops and Establishment Act does not state any of these, nor does the Factory Act. What is the standard set of leaves given by most companies? Please reply at the earliest.

Dear Apeksha,

Please name the Shops & Establishment Act which does not have provisions relating to the grant of EL, SL, and CL. Have you reviewed Chapter VIII of the Factories Act, 1948, regarding leave with wages for the grant and accumulation of earned leaves?

I did not get the complete Act to refer to whatever I had got. It was not mentioned in it. Anyways, thank you, Mr. R.N. Khola, for your kind reply. I will refer to Chapter 8 of the Factories Act. Thank you, sir.
