Dear All,
There is a thumb rule that water flows from top to bottom & the same is true for corporate culture. In most of the cases, culture valued by corporate is the essence of the nature of Top Most person handling the business & that is because of the reporting structure of an organization. Most of the time HR Head works in good confidence of the Topmost Authority & acts as per his choices.
But unfortunately all mistakes are the part of HR & achievements are made by Top leaders is the philosophy of the corporate culture.
Thanks

I tend to agree with Rajeev (rkc30). Not wanting to be a confrontinist, HR often tend to toe the thoughts of Topmost authority, to the detriment of an organisation and self. seshadri

Excellent article - thanks for sharing. And I believe that Rajeev and seshadri are right about HR itself not wanting to "disturb" top management.
"Face-saving" is a prominent feature of Japanese national culture, so it would probably take extraordinary efforst to help management and employees to behave differently. It would be well worth it, but someone very high up has to realize this.

I appreciate your queries regarding downfal of toyota. But what are the solutions u offer. why a mechanical failure is being attributed to entire HR processes. Whether HR Can take onus of all the bussiness failures.

Thanks a lot. really a good one. By taking this as an example most of the companies should concentrate in strengthening their HR policies so as not to face the same situation.

a combination of conceptual, technical and HR skills should be appreciated. the failure was not ONLY due to weak HR policies rather due to poor decision making.
