Hi all
i would like to know that if i have a 1 unit in xyz MIDC where in 150 workers are employed. and now i want to start a another unit in the same area with the same company name where i have to take 15 to 18 worker.
my question is that
1) can these 2nd unit worker form a union ?
2) are this 2nd unit worker will be absorb by the 1st unit by the law ?
please tell me asap.

Raj, Pls clarify that ur frst unit has a regstd union or not. In case, it has a regstd union the 2nd unit workers will merge with that union.
Yes, any 7 members can form a union, you cant appose them , at the same time this 15employees can also became union member of current union. But union should be recognised, let me whether this union is recognised, whether it is internal or external.
Having union is not a bad it find helpful also depend on management union relation, where Hr has to play major role to establish good relation among the parties

It is not advisable to form a new union as it would be difficult on your part to manage them. This would also mean that you are providing too many hands to your workers. Suggest you to merge them with the existing union & have one standard union all across.
