This matter relates to Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 & therefore go through section 2(l) for definition part on lock out & further more for declaring lock out you may go through Chapter V under this Act.

before going to lock out employer should be given employee 6 weeks notice and employer has to wait 14 days for their after that he got right lock out the company. period of 14 is a cool periof for negotiate.

Industrial Disputes Act,1947 approved the employees to go on strike on the expiry of 14 days of issuing such notice. 6 weeks is the maximun period.
