Hi..I think you can speak to the candidates who have already resigned..find out their expectations and promise them to keep their names confidential..communicate their expectations to respective departmental heads..in a way you will be link b/w employee his boss..not only money but sometimes you can retain people by providing them acknowledgement n appreciation for their work..it works! All the best!

you have to take into confidence all HOD,s and ask them about any hidden issues which prompting people to putting paper, also start taking Exit interviews ,you may find the reason,if salary disaprity is issue go for mid term correction, also find out if any rumour is there about closing of unit.

Dear,
Basically you need to know the exact reason/s for such resignations. For that you need to spend time with the employees leaving the organisation by conducting their exit interviews.
Analyse the data and reason for the leavings, this will give you the grey areas for discussion with the management.
If people are leaving in the same department, you should get hold of the Head of Department and ask if possible.

Base on my experience employees will not resign if there is no problem specially on one department. the only reason why the employees resign are the following.
1. the salary does not meet what they need. no increase of salary.
2. Hazardous working environment.
3. The person who manage on that department is the problem.
the only way to solve this is to investigate ask someone on that department what is going on.

Dear Early star,
It is a frequent issue in most of the Organizations. You need to start with finding out the reason. It may be salary - or it may be becuase of someone within the Org, It may be even because of teh Senior Management. For that you need to find it our from them. Dont you have any good friends in that dept or other dept who may be willing to tell you what happened?
Anyhow - May I ask what industry you are working for?

Hi earlystar,
It is nice that you r planning to have a meeting with management; but prior to that you should be well aware of possible reasons for resigning of employees of same dept. Pls share if its a mfg or s/w org, product based or service based is there any urgent worry for employees like lay-off, lack of new projects, no promotions since long time etc etc, then only you will get support from the management.

Hi, In your organization the employees may not be satisfied with the management techniques, work pressure, environment. U need to have a open house meeting in every month and have to find out the problems of the employees. They may be seeking for something more support from the management. but they r not able to get it from. There is not only a salary problem in the company. The main thing is that, whether they like or not like the work which u have assigned them, the qualifications of the employee, appraisals, work environment, team managment, superior behaviour, attitude towards the work. Ask in the exit interview that what is the reason they r leaving the job. and ask suggestions from the existing and past employee to improve the work and stability of the employee.
