Hi to All,
As nowadays every company is looking for a person who is having a rich experience in head hunting.
Can anyone please elaborate what head hunting is and which resources are being used in it.

Head hunting is one of the most effective ways of sourcing manpower.Practised by recruiters,it involves approaching a potential hire directly and trying to motivate him/her to consider the job/career option the recruiter has.

To make it more precise head hunting in my opinion is, to manage technically or physchlogically with the persons known or unknown to get your job requirement.
Ex :- if you are in need of a sr. consultant in particular skill expertise, you need to manage to find out from which company you can find such person or from which contact can you grab the information, you need to speak to the concerned person (known / unknown) very sensitively and try to find your match.
This is my opinion, 100 people follows 100 ways, i am waiting for some other members comment on my article

Hi Vividha,

There are so many ways to enhance the head hunting skill...

1..you can call up on target companies reception and give her you fake identity and you can ask for a common name like Sanjay,Amit...these kind of name were very common during 1970-1980's..you will get a potential candidate of the same age group...if u r calling a software company they will definitely connect you to some software guy only ...just use ur talking skill and try to take ref if he is not the right one u r looking for.

2.. try to get company employee list...again u can use ur talking skill..like i am calling form some bank and my work is to sell credit card and software dev are the one who use to maintain max cred card :P because they earn a lot...

3..take ref from naukri from ur target copany talk to him...take his ext no...if u r looking for spc kind of profile like telecom ..then u can easily find out if some one is sitting next to him must be a potential candidate only and u can try sequence of that ext number and ur work is done....

Hey these all skills i have alreday tried ,was very much successful........Believe me.....

Hi Sandeep & Vividha,

Let me share some of my thoughts on this :

1. Head Hunting is a proactive approach to find the Talented professionals and network with them to place them for your clients or your company.

2. Best way to find out the best professionals is to check the market & references, if you are looking for a top notch sales professional in FMCG sector for your client then the people in the market, distributors, retailers & stockists etc would give information on that . Yes its a bit of a leg work but that's the best way to hunt the professionals.

Or check with Technical institutes which conduct the Talent test or invite students to solve the relevant problems..

3. Once done, plan the way to approach them in a subtle manner. Meet them if possible as don't limit your approach to phone calls. Assess them and keep their profiles with you.

4. It's a High Relationship based and trust is very essential.

5. If you find something lacking in them, tell them subtlely as you want them to rise in the Corporate World. Frankly not many consultants do that and the professionals feel they are just the products in the hands of Head Hunters/consultants.

6. Network & network and make the potential list , keep track of their performances, read everything about the Industry.

7. Present them to your clients or your company if you feel that it would be a cultural fit and meet the clients future plans & potential of the candidates.

Well, that's what i can think of at the moment.
