Dear Shikha

Employee motivation is biggest challenge faced in the organization, due to increased competitive environment, employer demands more work and productivity from knowledge workers in order to get best results. You can designed ativities like "HR Hangama" or "Take a Break" which will involve employees in various activities, where they can unleash their potential beyond work, without hampering the work schedule. This will make them to bond well amongst each other and will enhance their team spirit for efficient and effective work productivity.

Activities mat include

-Ice Breakers to begin the day

-Team Building activities

-Activities to build the culture of organization

-Fun Games and Contests

For example:

-Fine those who arrive late to a meeting and distribute the money to those who were there on time

-Award to all (excluding housekeeping staff) who are seen picking up trash

Periodically hold contests like a TV game show where employees answer questions about the company , perhaps in teams

-Themed Events

-Festival Celebration

-Food Fight

-Backyard/Parking Lot Bar-B-Q

-Employee Cookbook

-“Fear Factor” Game

-Identify the Baby Photo Contest

-Indoor Mini Golf

In Bad taste =>Executive team members wear their ugliest ties, jewelry, shoes or hats. Employees vote for the ugliest item. The executive with the most votes at day’s end is declared the winner and may be awarded a prize.

-Look-A-Like Contest =>Employees are encouraged to dress up like famous personalities. Co-workers then pay to vote on the best costume with the contestant receiving the most votes winning a prize.

-Spaghetti Dinner

-Traveling Trophy

-Theme Lunches

-Dress-up the Boss=>Boss wears a costume voted on by all employees if the goal is reached. Examples: animal costume, devil costume, etc

-Best Photo Contest

-Drawing competition

Shikha, there are numbe of more activities you can arrange but, most important thing being HR is how you can implement these things on continuous bases.

To motivate the employees ,why don’t you declare a day as traditional day in which everyone will be allowed to come in traditional dresses.

Engage them with some corporate social responsibility that blends with your corporate objectives. My son’s company encouraged him to teach rural kids in his spare time how to draw and paint.
