I have 9 and half years of professional full time work experience. Worked in 4 companies till now. I wish to go for MBA degree starting 2010. I am in a company where the future doesnt seem to be very promising even for an year. I have an offer outside, but will it sound gud to have worked for 5 companies in 10 year. I am considering post MBA scenario when I look for a job. And my last job experience wud be less than an year. Please advice.
Actually you have decided what to do. It is determined and planned. Upon what scenario you seek advice?
As per my view, it is not wise to join a new company before enroll for MBA. After joining MBA, you can add it in your CV 'pursuing correspondance MBA from ABC university' like this. It will rais your job market value also.
By the way, what is your basic qualification? Are you planning an 'Open MBA'?
With wishing you best in your future career,
Mammu

I am planning to go for full time MBA program. I am mainly concerned about the value of CV post MBA.
Hi Amit,
It is very tough to decide to go with full time MBA after 9 years of working. Very appreciating and all the best for your future but it seems you are not satisfied with yourself and your current job/position/salary. And I would suggest you to go with Correspondence Course and can avail weekly classes (SAT-SUN).
With this Correspondence Course you don’t need to leave your job.
I have learned that if one advance confidently
in the direction of his dreams,
and endeavor to live the fire,
he has imagined, he will meet with a success
unexpected in common hours….
All the best

This is where we really are fed up with people who are called 'professionals' themselves.

Even after 9 and half years of "professional" full time work experience, what did you learn about effective planning?

You see your statements below:

1. A fulltime MBA course starting from 2010

2. You are not satisfied with your current job because Future has no promise for next one year. (It is your 4th job. Might be less than one year in this company. So what you were expecting within one year when you joined in this company?)

3. You have another better offer. Seeing that offer in front of you, you plan to join a full time MBA for next 2 years. (it will take around 2 years and 4 months actually).

Does anything sound a 'good planning' Logic or at least SENSE here?

Please listen to the points of Mr. Anil K Arora. He has come up with good advice.

I personally dont like giving advice to people. I talk about LOGICS only.

Failing to plan is planning to fail, I didn't say; Alan Lakein said.

It all will depend on what experience you have and in what field and wat specialisation you choose in MBA...its not a matter that you have worked for 5 companies but y u left 5 companies you should have a solid reasons for the same.
As per my logic,
Mr. Amit should join for MBA course as a full time.
As Our experience in my MBA, One my classmate had more than 15 Years work exp in Fortune 500 Company, but He want to take more responsibilities and Challenges thats why he left the job and had joined MBA. Ya, last more than One year market situation is very bad (now, it seems likes positive) , he did not got as he wants but he is in better position than previous.
I think some risk to be taken for future sustainable growth.
