Hello Seniors,

I have little trouble about my career in which I would expect some opinion from you. I am sure your valuable suggestions would definately be helpful.

Here we go -

I am science graduate 2006 pass out. As we are not financially strong to pursue full time MBA, I opted for distance learning mode. Now I have completed my MBA (HR) in 2008. Meanwhile, I was working in leading Insurance company as back office executive as off-role employee. However, fortunately I got transfer into HR dept which I belive very fruitfull for me as I got hand on experience as HR Generalist of 2.5 yrs. Hence I never thought of change till the completion of post graduation. Now my problem is, till now I am working with same firm on same position. As I am on contract basis there is no career growth & the salary is very very low. And now as I am trying to get opportunity outside, I am really finding it very difficult to get absorb in HR outside due to reasons like

1. For the past 3 yrs I am working in same firm & that too with very low salary.

2. I am an off role employee.

3. I don't have any reference source to get in through.

It's been a year, but till now haven't got break anywhere. Hence I am bit confuse as whether I should try for HR only or try to change the field & go for some other profile. If I go for former one which I am seeking right now, I don't know for how long I need to wait to get good break. And if I go for later option then my 3 yrs of HR experience would be of no use.

So, please give me some way out & help me to build a good career.

hi Dhanu,
my suggestion is if you are interested in HR field then dont leave it. HR field is like doctors(medical) field. It largely depends on practical experience. as doctor get settle after 2-3 yrs so do we. Now you have passed those curtail days and u are on verge of great future.
Stay patient and apply for all the openings which u think are suitable. Being on off roll or having low salary is not a concern. Keep in mind u are just one step away u need to stay calm and focused. Its all about self confidence now. Stay confident and give your self some time iam sure u can do it.
Changing field is some thing that I will never advice to you.
And remember u are not alone who is facing this problem. Many have faced, many are facing and many will face this situation.

Dear Dhanu... as HR manager first kick out old habit of self defence and self repaisals....
Just follow the real picture of the world... its pool of opportunities and only you need is a dare step to forward your dreams...
Once a man started from scratch and he is now brand value of many in every corner of the country... hence dear... just be confident and take leap at the cost of present stable and stagnant life...
You will be at hights..
