Dear Nivedhita!
Its true that no one can beat our hon'ble PM's resume or his reputation for that matter.
He is the best example not only of a Teacher, Economist, Administrator and Politician, but he exemplifies how a most suitable applicant for any position should be.
When u possess the best on the earth sort of qualifications n gain the richest experience n prove ur worth wherever u work, then naturally, the best positions (whether FM or PM or any other...) will naturally come towards u than u going towards it.
Everyone desire to be on top but few only deserve to be there.. n no doubt, our hon'ble PM is one among them.
Thank u nivedhita for ur posting.
