How to justify rejecting job hoppers when hr's are changing jobs at a short notice?
Hi all i would like to ask the hr personnels does an hr abide by all the rules and principles for the very same reason that he/she rejects a candidate during an interview ? for. e.g. if an hr rejects a candidate because he/she has frequent job hops is it fair on the part of hr to do the same; i.e. keep switching jobs ?
Guidance on career path
Hi all i am komal mba in hr 2012 passout a budding hr profesional working as a hr executive for about a year now. currently am working with a small firm with around 20 employees. though the profile is hr executive my work involves 80 recruitment. rest includes designing kras forming various hr letters induction handling exit interviews etc. am looking for an opportunity to work in the generalist ares. i am getting job opportunities from it companies but all are for recruiter profile wheras am looking for a generalist one. as this would be similar to my current profile am avoiding job hops to maintain stability. can anyone please suggest if would it be wise to switch to a bigger company for recuiter position or have patience and stick to current organization unless i get a desired designation in other company. kindly guide.
Why employees change jobs. job hoppers vs. loyal ones
I dont know why any employee is not given pay rise only until he gets another high pay offer from another company. suddenly he also receives an offer equivalent or higher pay by his company to stay back. here frequently employees have the question that why his current company is ready to give such a rise which he was never offered earlier. reasons for job change differs from person to person but most important is a higher salary/benefits. employees are compelled to hop jobs because of the following reasons: 1 rising expenses and inflation 2 increase of dependents children & their education fees old parents & their decreasing health and increasing medicinal costs. 3 home loan or any other liability and many more ... many a times a person has to leave a job which he is loving just because he is not getting enough compensation but at the same time he has to fulfil his family s demands his own wishes and to secure his future. now a days it is compulsary for any employee to change at least 59 jobs before he gets a stable lifelong job where he can work till the time he retires. please do not deny this fact as employees change at least 47 jobs on an average because i have seen not one but several resumes and profiles on linkedin.com where employees have worked in 8 companies in 10 years and by inside information we get to know that they have joined with a whopping salary package. are these people called "job hoppers"? no infact companies call them people with "a rich job experience". yes it is definitely called a rich job experience because he has proved that: 1 he is versatile and can adjust anything like shifts long hours work on holidays or any job location. 2 he accepts every challenge environment & every situation. 3 he has worked on all different designations throughtout. 4 he has been given good pay rise on every job change by every company which means he is performing decently well. 5 he is a responsible employee / manager who is reporting manager for a team of his subordinates. on the other hand where there is a loyal employee who is working since last 15yrs or 25yrs in the same company which might be his 2nd or 3rd job in life but who only gets a fraction of those who have had several job hops. employees who remain loyal to the company are punished by not being given enough pay rise even though they get good designation staying in the same company for 3 yrs means stagnation and companies think that such employees are not so talented lazy to do a job change or have lost their demand so they do not get any new job. clearly job hoppers only seem climb the corporate ladder faster and also win in the short term and long term as compared to loyal and stable ones. no wonder why do interviewers ask silly questions like "why do you want a job change".
Appointment letter delayed due to background verification check
Hi all i have a total work experience of 7 years. i have recently joined a very renowned company on jan 9th 2014. the company procedure is to do background check for all employees and only then provide an appointment letter. in brief here s what has happened i have completed distance education b.com from university sikkim eastern institute of learning and mgmt. my current company follows vendor verification verif vendor name: supersoft consultants. while doing a bvc for me the verif vendor got a reply from university that it will take 90 days to confirm. my hr came back to me stating we can t wait for so long and please talk to someone from university to expedite it. i have never been to sikkim and was in touch with an institue in mumbai from where i gave exams premier institute primeindia. my institue people did everything to ensure confirmation on mails and telephonic conversation to my company hrs to convince them since my graduation is valid and university id ugc recognized. prime india is ready to give any doc stating the same. however in the meanwhile one of the existing employees a person of similar designation to mine has complained to the hr that my graduation is fake and accused that i had confessed it to him about this etc. the hrs called me for a meet and said that we have received a complaint and your university is also not replying so you can t continue. we are giving you a week s time you rather leave and rejoin us if the university replies. they interrogated in a very rude manner asking what subjects i have studied when was the exam etc. it was a nightmare and very embarrassing. i have requested them to let me be here until university replies. the institute through whom i appeared for the university have a say that their response should be considered. whereas my hr is adamant on getting a reply from university and that too asap. meanwhile from my side in order to prove the validity of my certificates i applied for an mba at a couple of recognized post graduate institutes like iibm etc. i sent them the scanned copies of my all 3 years and asked them if these are valid and can be considered. when i got their positive reply on the mail i forwarded the same to my company hr. my mail was responded by saying we have got an interim response from the verification vendor however we are awaiting a final response and we will let you know if anything is required from you now its been days and seems that the company hr is not bothered to give me an appointment letter nor bothered to ask about doc validity. i am unable to understand if i should search for other jobs or should i wait for the conclusion. i have tried calling the hr lot of times but in vain. i see them passing by and they give me a very weird look which is very demotivating please understand that i hold a managerial designation and job hops are not that easy for me. are the company hrs allowed to interrogate an employee in this manner?
