I faced an important group discussion with my coleques during past year night (i.e. 31st ,2006 night). One person asked me if an HR person retair from his profession what next ? Please share with me in this topic.

Why only HR professionals? Stands true for so many other fields also....What next after retirement? Well, work very hard till retirement and then enjoy a leisurely life after that!
How about consultancies and guest lectures?

1.He can start Consultancy and provide - Recruitment, T&D.
2.Guidance and Counselling-Legal activities, employee welfare
3.organize a recreational program;
4.meet health and safety regulations;
5.work with staff such as the pool manager and lifeguards;
6.fulfill the needs of program participants.

All the above applies!Besides,one should not do something just because the have retired from a job.I think it first starts the day you start working!(Long term planning)Over the years,you should have known what you are good at.You may be a good entrepreuneur as oppossed to a consultant or vice versa.
In my country Kenya,its ambivalent though many ex-hrm are not consultants.Find them in small businesses mainly as suppliers to a former employer among other ventures.Of course the options are limitless but whatever one does after retirement should in my view not be as aresult of retirement but a longterm and well searched opportunity.

The HR person who has a productive HR career has an ample opportunities to work as a consultant in various sector ranging from social to economical.
as we know managing human brain is the most crucial as compair to other resource management as human as a resource differs in attitudes,thougt process,skill from each and every individual.
the person who has a successful career in HR can be the best resource as an independent consultant particularly for SME to leverage his/her experience in uplifting the organisation .

HR Professionals, with corporate experience are given much importance in mgmt institutes to give a practical touch to the students and share your corporate experiences with them. It could be either full time or part time or even guest lectures

You can even go for your own venture offering courses on the following:
Personality grooming
Training freshers for interviews
Professional counselling on various issues
