If you have good relationship with your boss, you politely tell him about this. Otherwise no othergo other than tolerating, dear friend.

hi anju,
If your boss is friendly, discuss the problem with him. If not so, plan your work, reduce the number of times to boss room, communicate mostly through emails and intercom, which would be slowly observed by your boss himself. If he asks about the same, then it would be easy for you to let him know the problem.
all the very best...

Solutions:
1. Ask your HR to stick "No smoking" board in the your company building. This gives a indirect message to every one. If your boss is sensible, He will stop smoking in his office cabin.
2. Request your Safety officer to fix a smoke detector in your boss cabin as a part safety issue.
3.Create a separate smoking Zone, out side the office area.

Every boss has a boss......A silent complaint anonymously to the big boss would do or……………………ask your boss to quit smoking totally as smoking causes cancer and stuff add few things relating to your bosses health…………never stick a “no smoking” sticker without asking his permission unless u want to start politics in ur office nor ask him politely……..doing these kind of stuff may result to “no solution ……….second try : when ever he is smoking and u have some work in his cabin …………enter his office with a hanky on ur face ……..act like u don’t mind when the boss smokes but show him ur allergic to it like a sneeze while exiting his cabin or chough loud ……. But show some concern to ur bosses health too………that would be easy I guess.

You must be aware that nicotine is one of the most addictive substance. The best solution would be : Change your boss.

Just cover your nose with a hanky when you enter his cabin, and give aglaring look at the ciggy. Keep your mouth and nose covered throughout the whole trip to the cabin. That is bound to give a clear message to your boss. Source: Self Experience.
