Jigar,
First of all it will help if you live by your name. Have heart. You had heart and ventured into business of your own which was an excellent exposure for you. Look at it this way - you tried and did not succeed to the extent you would want to. Which means you have learnt a lot and now have a good understanding of what works and what does not. Have you drawn the lessons you have learnt?
Well in any interview you will be asked questions around this. It is best to be honest and explain the outcome in a positive way. It is all about communication and intellect at an interview including your resume. That you started your own business in itself is a great achievement. I am 30 and jittery to start my own...
Yes, you can get an AM role. You may need to work hard and network. But it is worth it.
I am not sure why your business does not catch up...Depends on the city and how much you invested in Branding/Communication/Networking. It is a thriving area nowadays.

Hi Jigar,
First of all a warm welcome on this site.
Now let me answer your questions: -
1] Can I get a job in HR, even though I have been self-employed since past two years ? Does my business exposure count ?
Yes, you will definitely get a good job in HR if you go out for it with determination. It doesn't matter if you had a gap of two year. I had seen the person who had a gap of more than 2 year and again returning to the job and are doing quite well.
Always remember experience doesn't count on years it counts on how much you had learned and know about your field.
2] Will I have to compromise on my last salary drawn while accepting a job offer?
Well, it depends on situation and time
3] Do I need to mention all the facts about my business closure, during the interview process ?
Yes you can mention. Don't hide anything during the interview process.
4] Can I get an AM-HR position since my age at present is 28 and am not keen to accept Executive level positions ?
As far as designation is concerned, the criteria of designation depends upon organisation to organisation. Check the job profile and company brand and then make your decision weather to go for AM-HR or not.
I will advice on more thing, since you are only graduate go for a management degree in HR (either distance or regular, depends on you)which you help you a lot in future.
Best of Luck & Don't loose hope.
