For leave alone you don't need a software.. You can maintain it in an automated excel sheet, which you can find in citehr.com itself.
Again if the employee strength in more with multi locations then you might need one. Anything of those kind should have an employee data base in the software. Then you can enhance that with the leave management tool..

You can Check out HumaNET, from Bluechip. It has all the modules including Leave , Attendance management and Complete ESS and MSS. Leave , Attendance management are configurable as per the company rules and policies. Its a complete module with work flow definitation and e-mail integration. Good to know that you are looking for a tool that can help you manage leaves. And I know that there are a large number of software out in the market that either can be termed as leave management software or have a portion that manages leaves. Which one to invest your time, energy and money into is the BIG question. So, here are my two bits about what you need to be prepared with to answer the big question.

Ask yourselves the following questions:

a. Do you need a desktop-based software or a server-based software?

b. Do you need a software only for you or for your entire team/organisation?

c. If you need it for your team/organisation, do you need your people to be able to apply, manage, approve and administer leaves through the software?

d. Do you need the software to be able to handle holidays in addition to leaves?

e. Do you need the software to be able to handle leaves (and, maybe, holidays) for teams in the Indian geography only or teams that reside in multiple geographies?

f. Do you need to configure the software to be able to handle a partially online and a partially manual leave management process?

g. Do you need the software to integrate with other systems such as, your ERP software, your access control system, your payroll system, etc.?

h. Do you need only basic reports from your system or would you be in the need for advanced reporting?

i. Do you know your budget for buying the software?

j. Are you open to consider open-source / freeware tools?

k. Are there any specific technology considerations? Usually, this questions is answered in conjunction with questions (a), (c), (g) and (h)

l. Last, but not the least, in what timeframe do you want to have the software to be functioning at your office?

These are a few of the key questions that come to my mind when I would evaluate a leave management system for my team/organisation. Why? Because I am looking at this software not as an isolated piece of code/tool, but more as a tool that integrates into my context and addresses my specific business requirements for a resonably long period of time. Too frequent changes cost money after all and they cost us our time, energy, and, most often, our enthusiasm w.r.t. the initiative.

From my point of view you can go for the Alif Management payroll software, it is a combined package of leaves, incometax and payrolls in a one shed.
I am using the same and found it quite useful if can be used in a proper manner.
